April 25, 2008 Among the finalists ranging in age from 10 to 18, Valerie was by far the youngest, yet she was able to rise to the occasion, and thrill the judges with her best performance of Bach Concerto in d minor. Dominique played her more majestic and impressive piano concerto (Saint-Saens' #2) almost as well, and garnered 3rd prize. As part of winning prizes, they will be invited to perform as soloists with the San Diego Symphony in the upcoming season!!! Soon, their photos and bios will be featured on the San Diego Symphony's website. Now Valerie is preparing for her upcoming solo performances with the San Diego Civic Youth Orchestra (May-4 in Escondido) and the New City Sinfonia (June-6 in San Diego). For those of you who are local, we hope to see you at either or both of these events, as they will be good opportunities for you to see and hear other fine youths who are dedicated to classical music as well as Dominique and Valerie.
