Jonathan Ingber
Jonathan Ingber is the conductor of the Wind Ensemble. He received his Master of Music Degree in Trumpet Performance in 1988 from the New England Conservatory of Music where he studied with Charles Schlueter, former Principal Trumpet of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He received his Bachelor of Music Degree, Cum Laude, in Trumpet Performance from the University of Southern California in 1986. There, he studied with Boyde Hood of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Mr. Ingber is Principal Trumpet with Lyric Opera San Diego and is a founding member of the Quintet Premier Brass. He has performed with the San Diego Symphony, San Diego Opera, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, Starlight Theatre, and with members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. His freelance activities also include local ballet productions, solo performances, brass quintet concerts, and work with string ensembles and ceremonial bands. In San Diego area performances, he has played under the baton of Composer/Conductor John Williams and has backed-up noted performers such as Michael Crawford and Frank Sinatra Jr.
Mr. Ingber is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Palomar College where he directs the Palomar Brass Ensemble, and an Associate Faculty Member at MiraCosta College where he directs the Windjammers Community Concert Band. Also, Mr. Ingber maintains a private studio, teaching trumpet lessons to students of all ages.
