Suggested Pre-requisites for entry into this ensemble are 1 year of
Private lessons
or 1 year of school ensemble experience.
All Strings: must be able to
read notes on all four strings, sight-read music
with eighth, quarter, half and whole notes and play in the key of D
All instruments
auditioning need to have a prepared solo
and will be tested on sight-reading.
Bring
a copy of the music/piece you are playing so that the conductor doing the
audition will be able to follow along. Memorization is NOT necessary.
All CYO students are
required to take private lessons on their instrument, and encouraged to participate in their
school instrumental music program. |
