AUDITIONS for Symphonic and Symphony will be on Wednesday, May 21 and Thursday, May 22 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. These auditions are for new and advancing students.

All instruments auditioning need to have a prepared solo
and will be tested on sight-reading

Violin I: All three octave major scales through 4 sharps and 4 flats.  
Facility through 5th position, vibrato.
Violin II: 3 octave scales through 3 sharps and 3 flats, 5th position facility, vibrato
Viola: 3 octave C, D, and E scales, 2 octave G and A scales, 3rd position, vibrato
Cello: 3 octave C, D, and E scales, 2 octave G, A, and F scales, upper position facility, vibrato and tenor clef knowledge
Bass: 2 octave F and G scale and one-octave major scales through 3 sharps and 3 flats
Woodwinds: all major and harmonic minor scales through 4 sharps and 4 flats, chromatic scale through range of the instrument
Brass: all major and harmonic minor scales through 4 sharps and 4 flats,
chromatic scale through range of the instrument, transposition as applicable
Timpani: p to f roll, tuning exercise
Percussion: snare rudiments
